All the Big five Rhino Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera, others are Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena and more…Birds includes flamingos on the Soda lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more.. Break for lunch at Ngoitoktok spring Picnic sites it will be an unforgettable experience. Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’, the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World’. A massive extinct volcano, its towering tree lined walls drop thousands of feet to a “Noah’s Ark” of animals on the verdant floor below. This breathtaking oasis provides a haven for both predator and prey to live among grasslands, fresh springs and the large soda lake. Large herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Nowhere else can such diversity in wildlife be experienced in such a short period of time. After lunch proceeds with afternoon game viewing while ascending the Crater and drive to Simba Campsite for Dinner and Overnight

Day 2: Ngorongoro-Nainokanoka Camp / Masai Village-Bulati (4 – 5 hours)

Breakfast at 0700am. Depart to Nainokanoka Masai village where you will meet your Ranger or Masai Worrier who will guide you for the next couple of days. The Masai guide is escorted by a couple of porters who will carry the luggage and equipment for the upcoming walking safari. We will have an option to decide to camp at Nainokanoka campsite, this means during the day time we will have time to trek to Olmot crater and back to the camp for lunch and overnight. Next day the journey will begins through the highland passing many traditional Masai Bomas and their cattle. After a short distance, wild animals can be seen such as Thompson and Grants Gazelle, zebras and wildebeest. Where there are many animals, hungry jackals are not far away and high in the sky majestic eagles are observing the situation. The campsite for the night will be reached after 16km, close to the Masai village Bulati. Dinner and Overnight at Bulati Village or Nainokanoka campsite.

Day 3: Bulati Masai Village-Embakai (5 – 6 hours)

After breakfast, the journey goes up a hill where you can take a last panoramic view of the grass plains. The trek continues up and down through the bushy landscape which finally opens up to the active volcano, Oldonyo Lengai. The trek gives you great views of the majestic Volcano as well as into the impressive Empakai Crater before reaching the campsite for the night. A well-maintained track goes to the crater bottom, of which one third is covered by the Empakai Lake. This (alkaline) soda lake is an important source for flamingos, which can be observed throughout the year. When returning to the camp, a good dinner will be waiting for you. During the night you might hear the flamingo. Dinner and Overnight at Embakai Crater campsite

Day 4: Embakai Crater-Nayobi Village (5 hours)

Wake up very early so you don`t miss the beautiful panoramic sunrise above the lake in the Embakai Crater. After breakfast the crews will break the tents and start our 7 km trek on the rim of the crater, heading for Nayobi Village., as the participants and the animals are getting familiar with each other. Here in Nayobi Village you will fill your water bottles and have lunch. While following a good track, the village as well as Oldonyo Lengai can be seen from a distance. After this break trek to acacia trees campsite for Dinner and Overnight

Day 5: Nayobi Village-Lake Natron (3 – 4 hours)

Breakfast at around 0700am. The highlights of the trek are the great views of Oldonyo Lengai, Lake Natron and the Rift Valley. A big part of the rugged countryside is covered by the ashes of the last eruption in the year 2007, which add to the surreal picture of the landscape. The trek goes deeper down into the dry and hot Rift Valley, where the dried out ashes can be viewed from up close. The car will pick us up and take you to Lake Natron camp where you can refresh yourself. Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron Campsite.

Day 6: Lake Natron-Arusha

Breakfast at 0600am. Visit Lake Natron which is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world. Home to millions of tiny crustaceans, the lake is a haven for thousands of lesser flamingos and it is one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth. The area around the lake is dry and desolate. The strangely beautiful landscape is the attraction in this area. After a strenuous walk up the stream, we reach the source of the river in the cascading waterfalls that gush out of the mountains. It is an excellent swim in the river and under the waterfalls for a nice cool-down from the hot sun. There may be baboons or other wildlife in the gorge. After lunch we will drive back to Arusha where the tour will end.

Mid-May 2021 I summited Mt. Kilimanjaro with Tanzania Climbing Outfitters. It was nothing short of a magical experience. The communication with Herman was wonderful and his guiding skills (incl. knowledge on flora and fauna) are excellent.

I visited Kilimanjaro with these guys. They are both nice and fun to be on tour with and handled everything very professionally. My sister caught fever on the way and we split up. No problem, the extra guide took her back to Arusha.
